Job Title

Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | 12-Hour Day Shifts | 36 or 48 hour contract options available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care/IMU setting, managing a mixed patient population including med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neurological, and CVA patients
• Charge nurse responsibility is required; appropriate pay differential and training will be provided
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a teaching hospital environment, actively supporting students and new hires as part of a culture of mentorship
• Adhere to unit scheduling expectations, including working approximately 2–3 weekends per month based on unit needs
• Traveler must be available to work at least one major holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and/or New Year’s Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license required upon start
• Minimum 2 years of RN work experience required
• Complete work history with explanations for any gaps exceeding 90 days
• Skills checklist and copy of Nursys/license verification required at time of submission
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of candidate submission
• Facility may cancel up to 36 hours per assignment due to census

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience welcomed; first-time travelers will also be considered
