Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected 36 hours/week | 2–3 weekends per month based on unit need

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Clinical Observation Unit Med/Surg floor with patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Administer and manage IV therapy as part of routine patient care
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a teaching hospital environment, regularly engaging with students and new hires in a supportive manner
• Charge nurse responsibility may be required, with appropriate pay differential and training provided
• Adhere to unit scheduling expectations, including holiday coverage — at least one major holiday (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and/or New Year’s Day) is expected to be worked

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nursys verification/copy required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or related RN experience
• Completed Skills Checklist required at time of submission
• All employment gaps exceeding 90 days must be explained in submission packet
• Limited Requested Time Off (RTO); any RTO must be included in submission packet at time of submission

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Clinical Observation or step-down unit setting
• Comfort working in a teaching hospital environment alongside students and new graduate nurses
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers will also be considered for this assignment)
