Job Title

Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Contract | 12-Hour Night Shifts | 36 or 48-hour contract options available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care nursing for a mixed patient population including med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patients
• Deliver care in a teaching hospital environment, supporting and interacting professionally with students and new hires
• Charge nurse responsibility may be required, with appropriate pay differential and training provided
• Adhere to unit scheduling expectations, including working at least one major holiday (Christmas Day and/or New Year’s Day)
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license or valid Compact RN license required upon start
• Minimum 2 years of RN work experience in a relevant clinical setting
• All gaps in work history exceeding 90 days must be explained at time of submission
• Completed skills checklist required at time of submission
• Copy of Nursys/license verification required at time of submission
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of submission; no time off requests will be considered for the week of Thanksgiving (11/22–11/28)
• Traveler must be available to work at least one major holiday (Christmas Day and/or New Year’s Day)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR preferred
• Experience working in a teaching hospital environment
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
