Job Title

Sterile Processing Supervisor

Location

Orangeburg, SC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Temp-to-Hire | Onsite | Days | 5x8s, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with holiday rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Lead Technicians and Tech I, II, III, and Non-Certified Technicians across all SPD work areas including decontamination, prep/pack, sterilization, case carts, and sterile storage
• Coordinate daily SPD operations to meet surgical and procedural case demands; monitor tray turnaround times, instrument availability, and case cart readiness
• Oversee instrument tracking systems, documentation accuracy, and inventory control; provide daily staff assignments based on workload and case volume
• Audit tray assembly accuracy, count sheets, peel packs, and labeling requirements; address service concerns and implement service recovery as needed
• Ensure compliance with AAMI ST79, AORN guidelines, CDC recommendations, and applicable regulatory standards
• Perform sterile processing duties including decontamination, instrument assembly/wrapping, sterilization, and sterile storage as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
• CBSPD and/or CRCST (HSPA) national certification required
• Experience with sterilization, decontamination, and instrument assembly/wrapping
• Level III Trauma facility experience required
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be considered as a standard traveler; locals within 60 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with electronic instrument tracking systems
• Experience with specialty surgical cases including Neuro, GU, Robotics, ENT, Ortho, Transplant, and GYN
• Experience with Epic charting system
