Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized exercise programs based on patient health history, stress test results, and sub-maximal fitness tests, adhering to ACSM and AACVPR standards
• Perform fitness testing and exercise orientations, applying appropriate restrictions or limitations based on physical or medical conditions
• Monitor patients for symptom changes or signs of problems and respond immediately to emergency situations in the exercise area, including administering CPR when necessary
• Review and adjust patient exercise programs on a daily/weekly basis to ensure safe, effective, and progressive programming
• Provide patient education and counseling on risk reduction, and collaborate with nursing staff on exercise programming
• Document variances, incidences, and follow-up in accordance with established protocols

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science
• 1–2 years of previous experience in the exercise profession
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS-HCP) Certification required
• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) required
• Proficiency in exercise prescription, manual blood pressure monitoring, and glucose monitoring
• Comprehensive understanding of cardiorespiratory, resistance, and flexibility training principles and exercise testing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac Rehabilitation experience, including internship experience
• Certification as a Personal Trainer, Exercise Specialist, or Clinical Exercise Specialist
• Professional membership with ACSM, AACVPR, or NSCA
• BLS and ACLS certification
