Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Inpatient Rehab

Contract | Nights | 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 33-bed adult Medical Surgical unit (no telemetry) with a 1:6 patient ratio, which may flex up to 1:7
• Care for patients with complex diagnoses including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, amputation, and multi-trauma
• Perform and manage peripheral line care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, and isolation precautions
• Float to affiliated inpatient Medical Surgical units at a nearby hospital as needed
• Document patient care using the EPIC electronic health records system
• Adhere to weekend rotation requirements, which may include every other weekend or up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block, and work at least one holiday per 13-week contract period

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State RN license or active Compact RN license required; a pending license may be considered only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state
• BLS certification required
• Hands-on experience in Medical Surgical and Inpatient Rehabilitation nursing settings
• Proficiency in peripheral line care, oxygen delivery systems, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates residing within 100 miles are generally considered local and are not accepted (limited exceptions may apply for candidates residing 50–99.9 miles away for a single 13-week assignment with no extension eligibility)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC charting experience preferred
• CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) certification preferred
• CPI Blue Card certification highly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience welcome; first-time travelers are also considered
