Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Joliet, IL | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | Onsite | Expected 32 hours/week | Every other weekend required | No call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy assistant services to an adult inpatient population on a medical-surgical floor within a Level 2 Trauma facility
• Treat patients presenting with neurological, orthopedic, and general medical diagnoses
• Document patient care using Meditech EHR (transitioning to EPIC in November 2026)
• Collaborate with the therapy team and supervising therapist to implement individualized treatment plans
• Opportunity to float to the Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) if interested and qualified — not required

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois PTA license required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Ability to work a day shift schedule including every other weekend

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Adult inpatient or Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) experience
• ICU experience is a plus, though not required
• Familiarity with neuro, orthopedic, and general medical patient populations
