Job Title

Registered Nurse – Float Critical Care (ICU/CCU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3×12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide critical care nursing in a combined ICU/CCU setting with patient ratios of 1:1–3 in critical care and 1:4 when floated to stepdown
• Perform IV therapy skills including arterial line management, starting and maintaining IVs, and phlebotomy
• Manage ventilated patients and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; care for post cardiac surgery patients (not directly from the OR)
• Float within skillset as required across ICU/CCU, CTICU, stepdown units, and ED holding areas
• Provide on-call or working coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s) as needed based on unit requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1.5 years of critical care experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (EPIC training required; non-billable modules completed pre-start and annually)
• Ability to float within skillset across applicable units without exception
• At least one supervisory reference required at time of submission
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Swan-Ganz catheter experience highly preferred
• Experience with or exposure to IABP, Impella, and/or VAD highly preferred
• CTICU or medical cardiology background preferred
