Job Title

Registered Nurse – Float Critical Care (ICU/CCU)

Newark, NJ | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3×12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined ICU/CCU setting with patient ratios of 1:1–3 in critical care and 1:4 if floated to stepdown
• Perform IV therapy skills including arterial line management, starting and maintaining IVs, and phlebotomy
• Manage ventilated patients and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and care for post cardiac surgery patients (not directly from the OR)
• Float within skillset across ICU/CCU, CTICU, stepdown units, and ED holding as needed
• Document clinical care using EPIC; complete required non-billable orientation modules prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of Critical Care experience
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must be available to work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s) as needed
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Swan-Ganz catheter experience highly preferred
• Experience with or exposure to IABP, Impella, and/or VAD highly preferred
• CTICU or medical cardiology background preferred
