Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures in accordance with physician orders, ensuring timeliness, quality, and continuity of patient care
- Operate X-ray imaging and related equipment appropriately; evaluate and submit images along with relevant clinical information to the Radiologist for interpretation
- Educate, position, and immobilize patients for X-ray procedures, including safe patient transfer
- Prepare and administer contrast according to Radiologist protocol; follow Radiation Safety Measures (ALARA) to ensure patient and staff safety
- Practice sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention policies; appropriately utilize and maintain department supplies
- Supervise and evaluate Student Radiographers in the clinical setting
Required Qualifications
- Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- CT certification required
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- A personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) is required for this assignment; use of an existing badge from a prior employer or assignment is encouraged to maintain a continuous exposure record
- Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn position-relevant applications
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic clinical environment
