Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for CVICU patients in accordance with accepted practice standards
• Collect and analyze ongoing health data to evaluate patient health status
• Provide health teaching, counseling, and supportive or restorative therapy directly to patients or through delegation and supervision of others
• Execute delegated medical functions, review and monitor therapy and treatment plans, and refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
• Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need, and may be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN required)
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
• BLS certification – American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Prior experience in a CVICU or similar critical care setting
