Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room / Med Surg

Location

Gordon, NE | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7p–7a) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined ER and Med Surg setting, floating between departments as census and acuity require
• Manage a patient assignment that may include both ER and Med Surg patients; expected nurse-to-patient ratio of 1–3:4 depending on ER volume
• Administer and monitor common drips including heparin, cardizem, nitroglycerin, norepinephrine, and protonix
• Perform independent respiratory therapy tasks including breathing treatments, EKG interpretation, and operation of ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAT equipment
• Fill in as charge nurse when no permanent RN is staffed on shift
• Float to all unit areas including Med Surg, ER, Pediatrics, and Swing Bed as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• TNCC certification required
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• First-time travel nurses are highly preferred
• Strong time management, organizational, and leadership skills
• Comfort and confidence floating between ER and Med Surg environments
• Experience reading cardiac monitor strips independently and operating GE EKG and Mindray vital sign equipment
