Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments upon arrival, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms, and triage patients based on severity of condition
• Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments per physician orders; perform emergency procedures such as wound care and splinting
• Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and responses to treatment, adjusting interventions as needed
• Respond to rapid response calls, code blue situations, and other critical events requiring immediate intervention
• Accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and care responses in electronic health records (EHR)
• Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered emergency care; agency nurses may be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Current RN license in the State of Oregon
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Strong clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and ability to perform under high-stress conditions
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, protocols, and infection control practices

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Previous clinical experience in an emergency or acute care setting
• Certifications specific to areas of clinical specialty
• Experience managing a diverse patient population across varying levels of acuity
