Job Title

Travel Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Orthopedic & Trauma (Nights)

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3×12-hour shifts per week | 3 weekend shifts per schedule period | Projected Start: September 14, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 23-bed Orthopedic/Trauma unit with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
• Care for post-operative patients including knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, as well as trauma patients and some neurological overflow
• Operate and monitor unit-specific equipment including traction, fixators, and cooling equipment
• Document patient care using the Meditech electronic health records system
• Conduct bedside shift reports and hourly rounding in accordance with patient experience standards
• Float to other Medical Surgical level-of-care units (General Med/Surg, Nephrology, Neuro/Trauma) as needed; contract staff are first to float

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend scheduling requirements
• Compliance with required dress code: navy scrubs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred
• Telemetry (Tele) experience
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or familiarity, helpful given neurological overflow patients
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
