Job Title

Registered Nurse – Wound Care

Location

Tacoma, WA | Inpatient

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate inpatient wound care consults and recommendations in accordance with established standards, defined timelines, and the overall plan of care
• Perform identification, assessment, prevention, and ongoing management of wounds including pressure injuries, vascular, arterial, and diabetic ulcerations, ostomies, draining wounds or fistulas, and skin conditions related to incontinence, surgical procedures, and/or trauma
• Oversee wound vac (Smith and Nephew) application and management as part of patient care
• Complete documentation, billing, and discharge planning for wound care supplies
• Provide patient and staff continuing education and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration
• Float to other affiliated inpatient facilities, with advance notice provided when possible

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Washington (or compact eligibility)
• BLS certification required
• WCC or WOCN certification required (WOCN strongly preferred)
• Ability to manage a patient load of approximately 5–15 patients per day, including new consults
• No prior travel nursing experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CWON (Certified Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse) certification
• Experience with ostomy care and management of complex draining wounds or fistulas
• Familiarity with wound vac systems and photo documentation protocols
• Experience working in a multi-site or float-based inpatient wound care environment
