Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed telemetry unit (all private rooms) with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4–5:1 on days and 4:1 on nights (primary patient care, no nurse aides on night shift)
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips, identify rhythm changes, and respond appropriately using GE Cardiac Monitors (remote monitor techs are available, but RN interpretation is required)
• Manage set-rate drips including Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Cardizem; no titration is required
• Administer all breathing treatments; unit supports up to 6L O2, CPAP for non-obstructive sleep apnea only — no high-flow or BiPAP on unit (RT available 24/7)
• Perform groin management and care for patients with diagnoses including renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health conditions
• Participate in self-scheduling, standby shifts as required, weekend rotations (3 shifts per schedule period), and holiday block rotations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• EKG certification required
• Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer (maximum of 2 attempts); failure to pass within 2 attempts may result in ineligibility for placement
• Must successfully pass a Pass/Fail Simulation Lab on Day 1 of orientation; failure may result in ineligibility for placement
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid Driver’s License must be provided with submittal

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Demonstrated EKG competency and cardiac monitoring experience
• Experience with groin management
• Familiarity with telemetry patient populations including renal, GI, sepsis, and mental health diagnoses
• Prior travel nursing experience in a telemetry or medical-surgical setting
