Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for ICU patients in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing
- Evaluate health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data, and refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
- Perform health teaching, health counseling, and provide therapy and treatment supportive and restorative to life and well-being
- Execute delegated medical functions and review and monitor therapy and treatment plans
- Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
- May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, and may be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN minimum)
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- ACLS, NRP, or PALS as appropriate for the unit or service
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Specialty certification appropriate for the unit or service
