Registered Nurse – ICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights), rotating in 4-week blocks | Every other weekend required | On-call time is not counted toward expected weekly hours

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6
• Rotate between day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) and night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) in 4-week blocks
• Float to ED holds, inpatient holds, PACU, and other boarding units as needed; floating occurs in 4-hour blocks during shift
• Adhere to weekend scheduling requirements (days: Saturday and Sunday; nights: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday every other weekend)
• Complete day-one pass/fail competency testing upon start

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Must not have been employed at this facility (permanent, per diem, or contract) within the past 6 months to be eligible
• Expected hours of 72 biweekly (on-call hours are not included in this total)
• No holiday time off approved during the Christmas period

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Level 1 trauma experience preferred; candidates without prior travel nursing experience are expected to have Level 1 trauma experience
