Travel RN – Medical Surgical

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:6 patient ratio
• Perform skilled nursing procedures including IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, and NG tube insertion
• Conduct and interpret EKGs and manage patients on heparin drips
• Document patient care accurately using the Paragon electronic health record system
• Occasionally float to inpatient rehab or the emergency department for task-based support as needed
• Maintain compliance with all required certifications: NIH Stroke Scale, ACLS, and BLS

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment completed
• Proficiency in IV starts, Foley catheter insertion, NG tube insertion, EKG performance, and heparin drip management
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-acuity, high-turnover Med Surg environment
• Comfort managing a 1:6 patient ratio
• Familiarity with the Paragon EHR system
