CNA – Nursing Assistant / Care Technician

Location

Syracuse, NY | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Pediatrics Float Pool | Every other weekend required | Expected schedule of 4 eight-hour shifts and 4 twelve-hour shifts per two-week period

Key Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect nursing care activities including obtaining vital signs, toileting, bathing, and feeding patients based on patient assignment
• Serve as a safety companion for patients identified as a safety risk
• Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development and respond to changing patient needs within a pediatric setting
• Collaborate with all members of the health care team, problem-solve, and maintain a safe work environment
• Obtain, record, exchange, and convey patient information accurately and effectively
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold positive public relations and ethical decision-making

Required Qualifications

• Current New York State CNA Certification required
• Current BLS Certification required
• Minimum of one year of patient care experience
• Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
• Acute Care experience required
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a pediatric care setting
• Experience working in a float pool environment
• Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development
