Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a variety of medical surgical patient types in a 15-bed unit with a 4–5:1 patient ratio
• Administer and monitor heparin drips and other medications as ordered
• Utilize remote telemetry monitoring and apply cardiac/telemetry assessment skills
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity as needed, leading and supporting unit staff
• Float across multiple campuses as required to support patient care needs
• Contribute to a collaborative unit culture by supporting teammates, sharing knowledge, and maintaining a positive, adaptable attitude

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
• Minimum 24 months of current Med Surg or Med Surg Telemetry experience required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months — first-time travelers are not accepted
• Proficiency caring for a variety of medical surgical patient types required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with heparin administration required
• Charge nurse experience required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (verified by driver’s license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Telemetry and/or cardiac background highly preferred
• Preceptor experience is a plus
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Openness to extending beyond the initial 13-week contract is strongly preferred
