Travel RN – Labor & Delivery

McAllen, TX | Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12 Weeks | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Rotating Weekends | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Labor and Delivery unit with 14 labor beds, 2 ORs, 6 recovery bays, and 8 antepartum beds, maintaining patient ratios of 1:2 (labor) and 1:4 (antepartum)
• Perform and assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, bilateral tubal ligations, D&C procedures, and uterine tamponade device placement
• Manage and titrate Magnesium and Pitocin drips per unit protocols
• Utilize GE EFM and CPN equipment along with Meditech/Centricity Perinatal EMR for documentation and fetal monitoring
• Float to antepartum and postpartum (OB assignment only) units as needed
• Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary team; expected to bring a positive, compassionate, and flexible approach to patient care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Intermittent EFM certification required
• Demonstrated labor management skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Ability to circulate in the L&D OR
• Experience with GE EFM equipment and/or Meditech/Centricity Perinatal EMR
• Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced Labor and Delivery environment
