Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 3×12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) required | One summer holiday, one winter eve, and one winter night will be assigned based on need

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Labor & Delivery unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio across a 7-room unit averaging approximately 3–4 patients daily
• Must be able to scrub and circulate C-sections
• Perform fetal monitoring, support high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section recovery, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum care
• Float within scope as needed, including to Mother/Baby, serving as baby catcher, and supporting the nursery
• Document patient care using Epic electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Proficiency with fetal monitoring, high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, C-section recovery, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum care
• Local candidates are welcome; a local rate differential applies
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rate; candidates within 50 miles are considered local

Preferred Experience / Skills

• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
