Respiratory Therapist – Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Key Responsibilities

• Operate various types of respiratory care equipment for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and/or illness under physician request
• Work independently with invasive and non-invasive ventilation, various PAP modalities, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Perform airway management, including assisting with intubations, and draw arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Conduct Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs) and support pulmonary rehabilitation activities
• Function independently across multiple patient care areas, serving a patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric
• Be willing to learn new skills such as home sleep testing

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) — required; CRTs will not be considered
• Active Vermont RRT State License — required at time of submission
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification — required
• Minimum 2+ years of current Registered Respiratory Therapy experience
• Proficiency with ventilators, various PAP modalities, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Must have personal vehicle available for this assignment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 6 months of prior travel/contract assignment experience
• Experience performing Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs)
• Familiarity with home sleep testing protocols
