Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Contract | Night Shift | 3×12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) | 36 or 48 hours per week accepted | Contract lengths of 13–26 weeks accepted

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Utilize EKG interpretation skills as required for this specialty; candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Document and communicate using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR methodology
• Float to other units within or near the facility as needed
• Work every other weekend as required
• May be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters; unit reassignment mid-contract may occur as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending license acceptable for submission)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Must be available for daily orientation classes during week 1 (approximately 24 hours of unit orientation); pre-start online modules must be completed before first day using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local pay rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR, Pyxis medication dispensing, and SBAR communication
• Familiarity with isolation protocols and stepdown-level care environments
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
