Job Title

LVN / LPN – Medical Surgical (Night Shift) | 13-Week Contract

Location

San Antonio, TX | Inpatient Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected start October 2026 | Every other weekend required | No on-call requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to a Medical Surgical patient population on a 44-bed inpatient unit
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:5–6, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, PCTs, and a unit clerk
• Operate and monitor telemetry equipment, vital signs monitors, glucometers, scales, and other standard Med-Surg equipment
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
• Float to other Medical Surgical units (Med 3, 4 North, Rehab) as needed
• Adhere to facility dress code: navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Active LVN / LPN licensure (must be valid in the state of Texas)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Telemetry capability required — candidates without this skill will not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior inpatient hospital nursing experience
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
