Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Neuro

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3×12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36 or 48 hours per week accepted | 13–26 week contracts considered

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a dedicated Neuro unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Utilize unit systems including Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication
• Float to other units or areas within the facility as required
• Work every other weekend and be available to work holidays (expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays)
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; contract staff may be expected to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date as required for this specialty

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license – NC state license or Compact license (pending licensure considered for submittal)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro nursing experience required
• Must be able to work holidays and adhere to RTO policy (up to 7 days, no holidays; no RTO during first week; all RTO must be pre-approved)
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are welcome to apply; a local rate will apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
