Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (shift start 6:45 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit, including 8 telemetry beds, with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for general MedSurg patients, post-operative general surgery, and orthopedic patients in a fast-paced, two-hallway unit layout
• Read and interpret EKG strips and manage telemetry monitoring as required
• Demonstrate competency in drip management, including Amiodarone and Diltiazem drips
• Float to the telemetry unit as needed based on census and staffing requirements
• Document and manage patient care using the Cerner EMR system; bedside report is utilized

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of California
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
• Completion of the Dysrhythmia Exam (Basic) through UNA is required prior to acceptance

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry setting
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience with post-operative general surgery and orthopedic patient populations
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced unit environment
