Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor and Delivery

Location

Grass Valley, CA | Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Family Birthing Center setting, covering both Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units
• Maintain established patient ratios: 1:2 in L&D, 1:1 during active delivery, and 1:4 (couplets) in Mother/Baby
• Care for standard L&D patients including term, preterm, and couplets; manage newborns requiring IV antibiotics and/or short-term oxygen support
• Respond confidently and independently in emergency situations, particularly during night hours when on-site resources are more limited
• Participate in every-other-weekend rotation (Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights) and rotate holidays in alignment with core staff scheduling
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in California (or compact eligibility)
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced AWHONN certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Ability to work independently and perform strongly in emergency situations
• 2 supervisory references required at time of submittal (at least 1 within the past 12 months and 1 within the past 3 years; charge nurse references accepted)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• STABLE certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Comfort working in a lower-resource, night-shift environment with on-call physician and anesthesia support
