Contract | Days | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | No call, no weekend requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations within 48 hours of initiation, establishing appropriate goals relative to each patient’s prior level of function and developing individualized treatment plans
• Implement effective physical therapy interventions utilizing current methodologies, with ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness and modification of goals and treatment as appropriate
• Provide patient and family education using a variety of teaching methods appropriate to the patient’s level of understanding, documenting education and outcomes per department policy
• Maintain accurate, timely, and concise documentation including progress notes, billing, timecards, productivity logs, and other departmental records in accordance with department policy
• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and physicians regarding patient status, treatment plans, and changes in condition; verify payor guidelines and authorizations as needed
• Delegate to and supervise support staff and students appropriately within licensure and practice standards; manage time effectively to meet department productivity standards

Required Qualifications

• Active California Physical Therapist (PT) license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Demonstrated competency in physical therapy for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Ability to complete evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions utilizing current and effective methodologies
• Travelers are expected to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s); holiday scheduling is subject to manager discretion and time-off requests will be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Orthopedic physical therapy experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with young adult or youth populations in an outpatient setting
• Familiarity with sports rehabilitation techniques and specialized treatment interventions
