Job Title
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to laboring, preterm, and antepartum patients in an active Labor and Delivery unit averaging 8–10 deliveries per day
- Confidently circulate and recover C-sections in one of two fully equipped OR suites on the unit (scrubbing is not required)
- Titrate Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate drips per established unit protocol
- Utilize electronic medical records via Cerner and monitor fetal status using the Fetal Link EFM system
- Float to Mother/Baby and Postpartum units as needed
- Adhere to AWHONN staffing guidelines and maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 2:1, Antepartum up to 4:1, C-sections 1:1)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license with Labor and Delivery specialty experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
- Must have hands-on experience with C-sections (circulating and recovering)
- Computer charting experience required; Cerner experience strongly preferred
- Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam (minimum score of 80%, up to 2 attempts) prior to offer acceptance
- Must successfully complete a pass/fail Simulation Lab on day one of orientation (study guides provided)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for high-risk or preterm patients at or above 28 weeks gestation
- Familiarity with a high-volume Labor and Delivery environment
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center or Level II NICU-equivalent facility
- Comfort with antepartum patient care and associated monitoring protocols
