Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for a designated group of patients and provide care utilizing the nursing process, current nursing trends, and available resources.
• Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop, implement, and continuously modify individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care to support integration of information across the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with the critical care team and hospitalists in the care of Advanced Care patients.
• Monitor EMU patients for seizure activity and ensure timely communication with patients and families through hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards.
• Uphold patient and employee safety by identifying, reporting, and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant registered nursing experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher.
• Active Illinois State RN License in good standing.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience working in an advanced care or critical care setting.
