Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Per Diem)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (26 Weeks) | Per Diem | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM Start) | Weekend Availability Required

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the Emergency Department
• Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient clinical condition, including diagnostic study results and symptomatology, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching and oversee the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards
• Maintain knowledge of EMTALA regulations and fulfill reporting obligations related to child and adult abuse to appropriate agencies
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Float to units of competency as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Current ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Current PALS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital Emergency Department setting

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Meditech EMR experience
• COVID vaccination
