Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Emergency Room (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric emergency room patients, including Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, Med/Surg, and all pediatric specialties
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4 within a 12-bed unit
• Utilize EPIC EMR for accurate and timely documentation of patient care
• Float as needed across related units including NICU, general floor, and PICU
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and respond to call-back assignments as required
• Work at least 1–2 of the upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or valid Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of Pediatric or Pediatric Emergency Room experience reflected in work history/resume
• Pediatric experience within the previous 24 months (required)
• EPIC electronic medical records experience within the previous 12 months
• AHA or ARC BLS – Basic Life Support certification required
• AHA PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification required
• TNCC certification required
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Discipline-specific skills checklist (Pediatric / Pediatric Emergency Room) required at time of submission
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (verified by driver’s license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric Emergency Room experience within the previous 15 months
• De-escalation certificate
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA)
