Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Pulmonary/Med Surg unit with a 23-bed capacity and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6
• Administer and monitor Heparin drips and other ordered medications in accordance with facility protocols
• Deliver care to pulmonary and ventilated patients, including those requiring BiPAP and trach care
• Serve in a Charge Nurse capacity as needed
• Float across multiple campuses as required by unit needs
• May provide care to COVID-positive patients following established safety protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or Compact/Multistate license required at time of submission
• BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
• Minimum 24 months of recent Medical Surgical (Med Surg) experience required
• Pulmonary patient care experience required
• Recent/current Charge Nurse experience required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for pulmonary and ventilated patients on BiPAP and with trach care highly preferred
• Level I Trauma experience highly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• First-time travelers will be considered if the 24-month Med Surg experience requirement is met
