Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Contract | Nights | Every Other Weekend | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 65-bed pod-based Emergency Department seeing approximately 230 visits per day, including a dedicated pediatric pod and a separate Acute Mental Health area
• Perform general ED nursing skills including assessment, documentation, IV placement, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
• Maintain a 1:4 clinician-to-patient ratio while delivering care across all patient populations
• Chart accurately and efficiently using EPIC – ASAP EMR
• Float as needed to the ED Observation Wing (16 beds) and Acute Mental Health Unit (ED Psych Observation)
• Apply critical thinking and provide thorough patient education throughout the care continuum

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• AHA-certified BLS required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification strongly preferred
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification strongly preferred
• Prior experience with EPIC – ASAP charting system
• Experience working in a high-census, pod-based Emergency Department environment
