Job Title

Registered Nurse – CVICU (Travel Contract)

Location

San Antonio, TX | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Rotating Weekends | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit, including post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-cardiac catheterization patients with various cardiac support devices
• Perform and interpret hemodynamic monitoring, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines
• Manage patients on mechanical ventilation, applying strong critical thinking skills in a high-acuity environment
• Utilize electronic documentation systems for accurate and timely charting and order entry
• Float to other units as required per facility floating policy
• Adhere to facility attendance, badging, and scheduling policies including punctual shift arrival

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN License — temporary licenses are not accepted
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines) and ventilator management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, or ECMO support devices
• Exposure to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation and order entry
