Key Responsibilities

• Direct a comprehensive activity program addressing the social, recreational, physical, educational, and spiritual needs of patients and residents
• Conduct assessments and develop individualized activity programs to support patients’ and residents’ dignity, mental capacity, and physical wellbeing
• Promote patient and resident feelings of usefulness, self-confidence, self-respect, and empowerment through meaningful activity
• Oversee program development, performance improvement, and budget development and monitoring
• Supervise, direct, and train activity program staff
• Complete MDS documentation as required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Activities Coordinator involving planning, assessing, and coordinating a comprehensive activity program in a hospital, clinic, or long term care setting
• MDS experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Workers required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Knowledge of human anatomy and administrative practices and procedures related to patient/resident activity programs
• Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively in English

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with budget preparation and monitoring in a healthcare or medically oriented setting
• Background in treatment procedures within a hospital or medically oriented institution or program
