Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 10-hour shifts (0700–1700 or 0900–1900) | Expected 40 hours/week | On-call required, including weekend call

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Circulating Nurse, managing overall nursing care in the operating room and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for patients
• Perform scrub nurse duties as needed, including preparation of the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions, and passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures
• Manage the sterile field and surgical specimens throughout procedures
• Collaborate with the surgical team to perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent retained foreign objects
• Provide care for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients including CABG, valve repair/replacement, minimally invasive and robotic valves, TAVR, LVAD placement, open endovascular AAA repair, peripheral vascular procedures, carotid stenting, open thoracotomy, VATS, esophageal/hernia repairs, bronchoscopy, esophagoscopy, and robotics
• Maintain a 1:1 RN-to-patient ratio across a 7-suite CVOR environment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a valid Compact RN license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Experience circulating and/or scrubbing in complex cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical cases
• Familiarity with robotic-assisted surgical procedures
