Certified Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Tech

Location

Rockford, IL | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days | 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) | Rotational call coverage, which may include one call shift per week; weekend call is either Saturday or Sunday (not both), structured as a 24-hour call

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub independently for cardiovascular and open-heart surgical procedures
• Function as a core member of the cardiovascular heart team in the operating room
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field, instruments, and supplies specific to CV procedures
• Participate in rotational on-call coverage, including potential weekend call shifts
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff to support safe and efficient surgical care

Required Qualifications

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a cardiovascular or open-heart surgical setting
• Demonstrated ability to scrub independently for CV/heart team cases
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with a full range of cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Familiarity with call coverage expectations in a high-acuity OR environment
• Strong ability to adapt to rotating schedules and on-call demands
