Job Title

Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Traveler)

National City, CA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | On-call requirements vary; typically 16 hours Monday–Friday (excluding holidays), 24 hours on Saturdays and Sundays

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scrub and/or circulating duties across a range of surgical specialties including general surgery, neuro, spine, orthopedics, and urology
• Provide surgical support for eyes and dental cases (on-site training provided for these specialties)
• Work independently following department orientation with minimal supervision
• Maintain accurate electronic documentation using the facility’s EMR system (training provided)
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and extended periods of standing

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Completed ARN 101 training
• Ability to work independently following department orientation
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods of time
• Reliable transportation required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CAORN (Canadian Association of Operating Room Nurses) certification or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in neuro, spine, orthopedic, or urological surgical settings
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR (training available for those without prior experience)
