Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice for mothers and newborns during antepartum and postpartum periods
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching as well as the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Birthplace
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment
- Provide and maintain a safe environment for patients and visitors
- Utilize the chain of command when necessary to ensure patient well-being and appropriateness of care
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of California
- Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Ability to assess and respond to changes in maternal and neonatal patient conditions
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience
- Familiarity with antepartum and postpartum care protocols
- Experience directing or guiding other nursing personnel in a clinical setting
