Job Title

Surgical Assistant – First Assist

Location

Full-Time | Permanent | Rotating Shift | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Perform first assistant or surgical assistant duties during operative procedures
• Support the surgical team throughout all phases of the procedure, including pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-operative care
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and sterile technique protocols
• Collaborate with surgeons and clinical staff to ensure efficient and safe surgical outcomes

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or comparable education and training
• Current certification as a First Assistant (CFA), Surgical Assistant (CSA), or Assistant in Surgery from one of the following accrediting bodies: NBSTSA, NSAA, ABSA, or NASC
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the Healthcare Professional level

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a First Assistant or Surgical Assistant role
