Labor and Delivery RN, Night Shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to laboring patients throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and maternal vital signs, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, supporting physicians and midwives throughout the delivery process
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and oxytocin as ordered, following established protocols
• Educate patients and families on labor progression, delivery expectations, and newborn care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes for mother and baby

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois or compact license eligibility
• Current BLS certification required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Prior experience in Labor and Delivery nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with high-risk obstetric patients and related interventions
• Experience working in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit
