Job Title

Licensed Paramedic – Acute Travel (Day Shift 7a–7p)

Contract | 13 Weeks | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the attending paramedic on 100% of calls — no driving required, as an EMT will operate the ambulance
• Provide prehospital emergency medical care to a diverse patient population including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Assist in the Emergency Department as requested, fulfilling float responsibilities when needed
• Operate within a Trauma Level 4 facility’s ambulance department, maintaining readiness across a 4-ambulance unit
• Document patient care accurately using the facility’s electronic health record system
• Maintain active Iowa or National Paramedic Certification, ACLS, PALS, and BLS throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Iowa or National Paramedic Certification required
• ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2+ years of paramedic experience, with prehospital experience required
• Completion of an accredited paramedic program
• Mandatory Reporter Certification (Child and Adult) required prior to start
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel consideration

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Strong prehospital clinical background with exposure to a wide range of emergency presentations
• Experience working in or alongside an Emergency Department setting
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on individualized, patient-centered care
