Job Title

Pre-Admission Services – Registered Nurse (Operating Room)

Hermiston, OR

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3×10-hour shifts (Monday, Tuesday, Friday)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments and risk evaluations via telephone consultations and in-person visits
• Identify potential anesthesia and surgical risks using established clinical protocols and evidence-based risk assessment tools
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers, anesthesia teams, surgeons, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient preparation
• Ensure appropriate medical clearance is obtained prior to scheduled procedures
• Apply the nursing process to deliver quality, evidence-based care throughout the pre-operative phase
• Serve as a patient advocate to ensure surgical patients are appropriately evaluated and medically optimized

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oregon or compact licensure eligibility
• Experience in pre-operative, perioperative, or surgical nursing
• Proficiency in pre-operative patient assessment and risk stratification
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Pre-Admission Services or Pre-Operative Assessment role
• Familiarity with anesthesia risk screening and surgical clearance workflows
• Strong telephone triage and patient communication skills
