CNC Machine Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, and setup/operating parameters
• Mount workpieces between centers, in chucks, or in fixtures and initiate machining operations on one or more machine tools
• Monitor numerical displays on control panels and compare with process sheet data to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds; make size and tooling offset changes as needed
• Inspect first-run pieces and perform spot checks on subsequent pieces to ensure conformance to specifications; complete first article inspections
• Complete machine setups of low difficulty independently within allocated time frames
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including machine and floor, and accurately complete all required documentation including time cards, process sheets, tub cards, and reject tags

Required Qualifications

• Base-level knowledge of CNC machine operation
• Ability to read and understand G/M codes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sheets, and technical sketches
• Ability to perform machine setups of low difficulty independently and within allocated time frames
• Strong attention to detail for dimensional inspection and documentation accuracy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience operating multiple machine tool types
• Familiarity with first article inspection processes
• Experience completing production documentation such as time cards, process sheets, and reject tags
