Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations, addressing psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care within the surgical/cardiovascular environment
- Communicates continuously with the physician regarding patient condition and procedure needs
- Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab
- Monitors and records patient condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular Lab
- Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met; assists with maintenance of equipment and inventory
- Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities
Required Qualifications
- Active state Registered Nurse (RN) license; required
- Current BLS (AHA) certificationCurrent ACLS certificationMinimum of one (1) year of clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab performing cardiac work, or in a Critical Care setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Experience with both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures
- Familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring in a cath lab or EP environment
