Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown | 12-Hour Nights

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit with a 1:3 RN patient ratio, managing conditions including AFIB/RVR, DKA, HTN, COPD, ARF, and post-heart cath patients
- Care for stroke unit overflow patients including CVA/TIA requiring TPA administration, as well as spinal surgical patients (ACDF, Laminectomy)
- Manage titratable drips including Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed
- Perform and assist with advanced clinical skills including chest tube management, tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, ISTAT, and CSF (lumbar) drains
- Pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival
- Document accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR; administer medications via Pyxis and manage IV therapy using Alaris pumps
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license applicable to the state of practice
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in acute care
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- First-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care; travelers previously employed at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with chest tube management, tracheostomy care, peritoneal dialysis, ISTAT, and CSF (lumbar) drains
- Prior experience with centralized telemetry monitoring
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse EMR
- Background in stepdown, PCU, or IMC nursing environments
