Director of Occupational Therapy

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight of the Occupational Therapy Department, including direct supervision of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians
• Oversee and coordinate clinical education and competency processes for Occupational Therapy staff
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and professional standards
• Maintain and oversee the Occupational Therapy policy and procedure manual, addressing scope of care, evaluation and treatment standards, discharge planning, and documentation
• Provide direct patient evaluation and treatment approximately 80% of the time
• Assist with program development and other administrative tasks as assigned, approximately 20% of the time

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
• Current California Occupational Therapy license issued by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance
• Must possess all additional qualifications as required by the California Therapy Board and the Rehabilitation Services Department
• Must practice in accordance with the California State Practice Act

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Active membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
• Prior experience in a director or supervisory role within an Occupational Therapy or Rehabilitation department
